Organic Approach and Certification

The evident environmental urgency and my convictions have naturally guided the project towards a certification of the vineyards in Organic Agriculture effective since 2018 and the certification of the wines as Organic Wines since 2019.

Appellation and Regulations

New vineyard plantations in previously prohibited areas

A recent regulatory change now allows new vineyard plantations in areas that were previously prohibited, as was the case in Villaz until 2016.

However, these new regulatory provisions do not permit claims to an AOP (Protected Designation of Origin) or an IGP (Protected Geographical Indication).

As such, wine from Les Coteaux des Girondales is currently classified as Vin de France.

But here’s some good news! Thanks to a collective effort supported by vineyard replanting projects in Veyrier, Château de Menthon Saint Bernard, and Talloires, Les Coteaux des Girondales might soon be included in the IGP Vins d’Allobrogie designation!

Stay tuned...
