With a technical background in construction, Francis naturally pursued business studies before working in the food retail industry. He then logically became an independent bookseller, founding the still-excellent Danaïdes bookstore in Aix-les-Bains.
After a detour to Quebec, the future winemaker trained at the CFPPA of Beaune and with notable Savoyard winemakers, including some of the “historic” members of the Pétavins association, such as the remarkable Domaine Saint Germain in Saint Pierre d’Albigny.
